Leadership A Key ingredient

The first step towards learning about leadership skills is to learn to lead oneself first. The courage and the conviction you demonstrate improves your chances of getting accepted as a leader.

Over the years we have been delivering programs for all age groups, Children, Youth & Adults. What the participants experience and learn during these programs makes all the difference for them and this is where our outdoor programs stand out from others.

Getting a boost in self confidence, knowing about life skills, discovering personal potential, getting motivated for personal achievements are some of the outcomes of this participation. There is much more that can be brought out through this Outward Bound participation and every time we are reminded of the famous quote of Outward Bound’s Co-founder Kurt Hahn.

"We all are better than we know,
If only we could be brought to realize this,
We will never be prepared to settle for anything less"

This quote not only motivates all of us at Outward Bound but also encourages us, to innovate our approach to different programs and activities therein. During one of our in-house meetings we ended up discussing a lot about leadership skills training for our participants. Ideas were pooled together and the outcome was having a different approach and the designing of a new "Leadership Development Program" for adults and University students.

The need to learn to appreciate the importance of “Leadership Skills” stems from the fact that we need to learn to lead ourselves first. If we can’t do that how do we really make ourselves skillful enough to lead others?

Someone in our team said "Catch them young" so we designed a program for University students. This program encourages the students to understand and explore the leadership inputs during their academic years and become confident enough to lead themselves with courage and conviction through the development years. The program is spread over a semester but is not an additional academic burden and compliments the efforts of the students in a pragmatic manner in getting organized for a better outcome during the academic years.

The other "Leadership Skills Development" program was designed for working adults with five years of work experience. This program is an outcome of our experience with employees from organizations. Through this outdoor program we are trying to address the leadership skills issues for individuals who are exploring growth prospects but lack the “Leaders Confidence”.

Both the programs are a combination of Outward Bound activities and Community tasks, the experience from which will bring home for them the leadership skills in plenty.

Join our outdoor adventure programs and explore the leadership skills the Outward Bound way.
