Emotional health is as important as our physical and physiological health, we must learn to take care of it.
Emotions can play a very constructive role in our life if we are able to understand them properly and respond to them appropriately.
Are you aware of your capacity to handle real-life emotional situations?
We come across people who frequently exhibit their emotions and we label them 'Emotional', there are still others who make a mess of their emotional expressions and are labeled 'Emotional fools'. Being emotional is considered a sign of weakness by many. And those who show no recognizable signs of emotions are considered 'Emotionally Hardened'.
In simple words, emotions are nothing else but heightened feelings about something. Emotions are a part and parcel of our normal life and we need to understand them and manage them properly in our life at all levels of our personal & professional relationships. This is what ‘Emotional Intelligence‘is all about, simply speaking.
A general perception that emotions are difficult to fathom and understand stops people from taking interest in pursuing the subject. You may not want to take cognizance of other people’s emotional status but you can definitely take your emotional status into consideration and respond to situations pragmatically. This can help you in making good decisions, maintaining good relations and above all prevent stressful situations for yourself.
We care for our physical & physiological health. With the slightest discomfort we go for the medicines or consult our doctor, but we rarely bother about our mental discomforts. They are a part of our emotional health. We should be willing to take equal care of it. Negligence may give way to things such as frequent irritations & anger, spoiled relations, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, and failures to achieve things in life.
